I demoed these at my golf course one day and I was surprised that they weren't quite as forgiving as expected. I did like the flight of the ball when I flushed shots though.

These irons are great and extremely easy to hit. I switched from traditional large cavity backs to the 710 MB's with Project X shafts and gained distance and control. Best irons I have ever hit.

Titleist MB 712 Comments

As you read this, several dozens of long, cardboard boxes, imprinted with the Titleist Script, sit in the back of a delivery truck en route to Arnonimink Golf Club just outside Philadelphia, host of next week's AT&T National PGA Tour event. They were all shipped from the same place, the Titleist Tour Deparment in Carlsbad, Calif.

On Monday morning, our Titleist Tour Reps at Aronimink will begin opening those boxes, each one marked with the name of a player in this week's AT&T field.

Inside the boxes: Prototype Titleist AP1, AP2, CB and MB irons (712 Series), which are being introduced on the PGA Tour this week for testing and seeding as part of our performance validation process.

(Please note: "712" is the series designation. Titleist has long used 700 numbers for irons, just as we just 900 numbers for metals. Accordingly, the "7" stands for irons, while the "12" stands for the new model year, 2012.)

Over the last few weeks, the Titleist Tour Department has been focused on building these iron sets to the custom specifications of our Titleist Brand Ambassadors.

This week at AT&T, members of the Titleist Leadership and R&D teams will begin working with our players to show, explain, fit and test the new irons, a process that will continue over the coming weeks across the worldwide professional tours. The feedback we receive during this validation process influences the design and specifications of the Titleist products available in golf shops around the world.

We will continue to provide behind-the-scenes information and product details here on the Team Titleist blog throughout the seeding and performance validation process.

Newest Titleist 712 AP2 Irons from PCG Tour

"The overall goal was to better apply different materials we use in the design, to make both the 712 AP1 and AP2, in essence, more forgiving." McGinley said, "But when you are talking about the AP2 player, he's not really looking for forgiveness. For him, iron play is all about distance control. When we can make an iron more forgiving, we're really providing the AP2 player with more consistent ball speeds over a larger area of the clubface." Titleist is one of the most particular clubs with the very best golfing makes while in the world, and maybe that is the main reason why Titleist 712 AP2 Irons are so welcome among a wide range of golfers. According to Titleist Golf, "The Titleist 712 AP2 Irons feature a multi-material, dual-cavity design aimed at serious golfers who desire for greatly enhanced feel with Tour-preferred performance. Extensive analysis of sound and vibration enable them to increase the quality of impact feel to a new level. The 55-gram tungsten-nickel sole weight further enhances feel and forgiveness."

With the newest Titleist 712 AP2 Irons in your bag, you will achieve consistent ball speeds and enhanced distance control on miss hits from a 7% increase in moment of inertia (MOI) with no sacrifice of workability or shot control. The reduced sole widths in the 8-iron, 9-iron as well as pitching wedge improve turf performance for more precise shots. Among the PGA Tour players using the Titleist 712 AP2 irons are Ben Crane, Brendon DeJonge, Jason Dufner, Brad Faxon, Hunter Haas, Matteo Manassero, Tom Pernice Jr. and Nick Watney.

Michael Hoey posted a four-round total of 22-under-par to win the Alfred Dunhill Links, and this Northern Irishman had the new Titleist 712 AP2 irons in his bag in Scotland. Hoey held off the challenge of compatriot and fellow Titleist brand ambassador Rory McIlroy at The Home of Golf and used a plethora of other Titleist gear in the process.

Nick Watney Tests Titleist 712 AP2 Irons

Before they are available on market, the prototype Titleist AP1, AP2, CB and MB irons (712 Series) are being introduced on the PGA Tour this week. Six days before winning the AT&T National, Titleist Brand Ambassador Nick Watney was hard at work on the range at Aronimink Golf Club on a rainy, muggy day in Philadelphia, testing his new Prototype Titleist 712 AP2 Irons for the first time. Nick later brought the new prototype irons out on the course for further testing. The following afternoon, after playing in the Wednesday Pro-Am, Nick stopped by the Titleist Tour Van to let the team know his previous set of irons could be shipped home.

Nick was one of 19 players that had new Prototype Titleist AP1, AP2, CB or MB (712 series) irons in the bag on the first tee Thursday at Aronimink, just 54 hours after the seeding and tour validation process for the new prototype irons had begun.

Titleist 712 AP2 Irons are designed for golfers of low handicap. Titleist's vice president of golf club marketing Chris McGinley said that Titleist has significantly increased the club's moment of inertia (MOI) by re-positioning tungsten weight within the heads. "The overall goal was to better apply the different materials we use in the design to make both the AP1 and AP2, in essence, more forgiving.” McGinley said. But when you are talking about the AP2 player, he's not really looking for forgiveness. For him, iron play is all about distance control. “When we can make an iron more forgiving, we're really giving the AP2 player more consistent ball speed over a larger area of the face."

Titleist MB 712 Irons

The gathering day of friends, we decide to meet in our university. With a excited emotion, I come to the place early where we used to visit. Then I recall the days we spent together, I can not use the word funny summarize it. At the table, we all chatted happily, some got married, some built a company, in a word, both have a good time after graduation.I am so glad to see that the guys I like who have a happy life, although we are not young any more, we own what I want, in a word, the dream come true nowadays. And we also talk about our common hobby, that is golf, I still remember that we like visiting the discount golf clubs mart on weekends at academic years. It almost every week! This is also the second reason why we become good friends.
On the way to that clubs, we share the hot items recently, Titleist MB 712 Irons is get the warm attention, maybe because it is the newest in September, and the material is graphite and steel, the outline is unique in golf items.
Moreover, Titleist 712 MB Irons feature a uniform muscle shape that provides more mass behind the impact area to achieve the quintessential soft, solid feel. This weighting also produces consistent launch angle, backspin and ball speed in order to provide precise distance and shot control demanded by better players. It is said that a player who owns 710 CB or MB irons won’t feel much difference if he tries the new 712 CB or MBs, and that’s by design. The pros who use the clubs—like Rory McIlroy, Geoff Ogilvy and Rickie Fowler—give the company lots of good feedback on them, so Titleist doesn’t want to tweak these classic forged blades too much.
Besides, titleist 712 MB Irons are classic muscle back forged irons that deliver the looks, feel and performance highly-skilled players demand. Forged from 1025 carbon steel with bright chrome plating, MB irons feature constant blade lengths, minimal progressive offset and a thin topline for superior shotmaking. Compare prices for Titleist 712 MB Irons from other website, we find it cheaper here.
The whole day has passed before we knew it. But there is no sadness, we plan to meet together next Sunday, and certainly, we will pay a visit to the clubs. Although the university changed, the cheap golf clubs changed, our friendship will never change, like the evergreen tree, it will last forever.
